Job description
Location and hours: Onsite – Chesterfield Central Office
Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum (Dependant on experience)
Responsible to: Finance Manager
Role Overview
- Reporting to the Finance Manager, to successfully complete month end accounts activities to a high standard and on a timely basis.
- Duties and responsibilities will include the management of daily reconciliations, monthly sales reporting, revenue assistance, assisting with the preparation of management accounts and other ad hoc duties within the finance team.
- Support the organisation to better understand financial performance by providing insightful reporting and analysis
Role Responsibilities
To assist with and take responsibility for key management accounts activities. To include, but not limited to:
- Completion of month end accounts including, for example, prepayments, accruals, and depreciation calculations. Taking ownership for key reconciliations.
- Prepare P&L’s, balance sheet and supporting management information within the required deadlines.
- Review P&L’s, balance sheet and supporting management information within the required deadlines, ready for group submission. Taking ownership for specific companies as required.
- Monthly analysis and review of control accounts.
- Complete monthly sales analysis and reconciliations.
- Maintain and review fixed asset register(s).
- Support the year end process, preparing and completing necessary adjustments ready for the year end accounts.
- Liaise with the external auditors on management account queries and providing key audit deliverables.
- Undertake financial audits at our services, ensuring there are good financial controls in place.
- Develop and provide weekly reporting to the organisation on key financial performance indicators e.g., hours and agency spend as needed.
- Provide ad hoc support and analysis to enable stakeholders to better understand financial performance.
- Develop reporting and analysis to allow the organisation to further understand financial performance.
- Assist the broader finance team by highlighting any areas of improvement and clarifying and advising on key requirements for supporting the completion of the management accounts.
- Management of the vehicle fleet as needed.
To support the deliverables of the broader finance team where needed, this could include, but not limited to:
- Support services and other internal stakeholders on financial matters as needed.
- By exception, and if needed, support purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking or payroll activities.
- Supporting other activities of the team as needed.
- Supporting responding to queries from other external stakeholders e.g., auditors.
- Ad hoc support to the FC and other members of the finance team, as needed.

- Flexible, adaptable, and proactive.
- Previous experience of working in an accounts function, ideally within a management accounts-based role.
- Working towards or wanting to work towards an accounting qualification.
Desirable
- Prior experience of management accounts.
- Prior experience of reconciliations.
- Working towards or wanting to work towards an accounting qualification.
- Prior experience of working in other areas of a finance function e.g., purchase ledger.
- Prior experience of working in a healthcare organisation or a similar industry.
- Prior experience of working in a multi-site organisation.
