Shifts: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
Pay Rate: Competitive (dependant on experience)
This role will be covering one of the below areas:
- East Surrey SLS / East Surrey & South Essex / North Essex / Greater London
- Mid Essex & Suffolk / Hertfordshire & West Essex / Bedfordshire & Northants
Role Objective
The Operations Director will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care across all services. This role will focus on driving excellence, compliance, and innovation within the organisation while fostering a culture of compassion and continuous improvement. The Operations Director will work closely with the senior leadership team to achieve the organisation’s mission, values, and strategic objectives.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support the delivery of high-quality care and support.
- Lead the design and delivery of services that align with the organisation’s long-term goals and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development of the organisation’s strategy, identifying areas for growth and improvement.
- Provide leadership in developing new care models, expanding services, and ensuring financial sustainability.
Operational Management
- Oversee the management and performance of social care services, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., CQC, CIW, or equivalent).
- Ensure all services meet or exceed standards for quality and safety.
- Drive efficiency and innovation in care delivery while maintaining high standards.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Establish and maintain robust systems for clinical and operational governance.
- Lead the organisation’s response to inspections, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Implement and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety of the people we support.
Team Leadership and Development
- Inspire and lead operational managers, ensuring they are supported and motivated to deliver their best.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous professional development.
- Develop and implement workforce plans, including recruitment, retention, and training strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including people, families, regulators, commissioners, and partners.
- Represent the organisation at local, regional, and national forums to advocate for service improvement and innovation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team on operational and strategic matters.
Financial and Resource Management
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring financial sustainability across all services.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and achieve cost savings.
- Drive occupancy and growth within the region, working in partnership with the Commercial Team.
- Contribute to funding bids, business development, and contract negotiations to support service growth.
