Job Title: IT Field Support Engineer
Location: Multi-Site (Travelling across Derbyshire and Yorkshire)
Salary: £28'000 to £32'000 Per Annum
Contract length: 6 Months FTC
Our Values
Our values reflect us all and they’re at the heart of everything we do. They set out our culture, the way we behave, and the way we do things. Our colleagues are passionate, kind, and resilient, and they go the extra mile for the people we support and each other. We have this expectation of all our colleagues.
Role Overview
Supporting the rollout of new IT infrastructure across a network of adult social care services, you’ll play a key part in ensuring a smooth transition to a new Microsoft 365 tenant. This includes providing hands-on assistance with email, SharePoint, and OneDrive data migration, as well as supporting staff with pre-configured laptop setups. As the first point of contact onsite, you’ll provide technical support, resolve IT issues, and guide end-users (Care Service Managers, Team Leaders, and Support Staff) as they adapt to new systems. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role, requiring extensive travel across the UK.
Your Responsibilities
IT Field Support
- Deliver and set up pre-configured laptops for end-users on “go-live” days.
- Ensure users are comfortable with their new M365 environment, including checking email, SharePoint, and OneDrive migrations have been successful.
- Liaise with the Helpdesk to resolve any issues with account setup and/or migration of M365 services.
- Demonstrate basic usage of Yealink DECT telephony devices and address user queries.
- Act as the first point of contact for general IT-related issues, providing resolution or escalation as required.
- Ensure users at the site are aware of ivolve’s IT Support processes – how to contact the Helpdesk, what information they’ll need to provide, etc.
- Verify new network and telephony installations are operational (no direct configuration required).
- Diagnose and resolve (if possible) onsite IT issues, such as connectivity or device malfunctions.
- Escalate complex issues to specialist partners or central IT teams as necessary.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanour when working with Care Service colleagues, appreciating they’re unlikely to be well-versed in IT issues.
- Communicate effectively (using language likely to be understood by end users) to build trust and confidence in the IT deployment process.
- Record and track all onsite activities, including issues resolved and escalated.
- Provide feedback to the project team on deployment progress and user adoption challenges.
