Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF2 9JF
Shifts: 40 hours per week - Monday to Sunday on a rota basis
Pay Rate: £24,544 per annum (based on 40 hours per week)
Sponsorship: This service does not provide support for Sponsorship at this time

Role Responsibilities
Person-Led Care
You’ll support adults with lots of different needs such as learning disabilities, autism, ABI and mental health
You’ll support them to flourish in a place they call home. You’ll empower the people we support to be ambitious and live fulfilled lives
You’ll give high-quality support tailored to people’s needs
You’ll be a leader of one of our teams, inspiring them to be the best they can be
You’ll manage the service when the manager is away, creating a culture that allows for learning and fun
You will carry out audits for the Registered Manager and make sure any feedback and improvements are carried out
And of course, you’ll follow our procedures, so we give consistent, safe and reliable care and support
Our approach is all about co-production with the people we support. So you’ll work with them to design and plan things and create the best experiences together. You’ll build and nourish relationships
Each person has a care plan that you’ll help to create and monitor to ensure safe practices. You’ll make sure you understand individual needs so that person-led care is at the heart of what you do
You’ll help the people we support to develop life skills, make choices and reach their potential for independence. Help them to feel included in the community
Support people to join in with social, leisure, educational and employment activities. Help them to enjoy holidays and day trips
Communicate in a clear and suitable way
Great Planning & Leadership
Organise and coordinate the assessment of care plans to make sure they meet the needs of the people we support
Organise the team so that tasks are completed. Supervising them formally when asked by your manager
Assess and support your team so we deliver brilliant quality every day
Solve problems and delegate tasks, so we run our service effectively
You’ll process finances and manage medication orders
Check people are getting involved and enjoying their activity plans
Coach the team to work in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of people with complex needs
Manage attendance, annual leave and absences
Authorise timesheets
Plan rotas to meet service standards
Work with your manager if there are any challenges for cover, attendance, or conduct
Follow disciplinary procedures with fairness
Deliver Great Standards
Provide personal care including support with continence needs; health and medication needs; handling personal possessions; finances and documents; shopping. Help them to have good levels of personal and environmental hygiene
Make sure all medical needs are met and help people to advocate their own needs and wishes
Make sure the environment is safe and secure. Promote dignity
Manage behaviours using our strategies and procedures set out in the care plans, and review these regularly
Have the highest integrity when you deal with personal and financial affairs
Look after people’s personal property and clothing, reporting any extra needs to your manager
Maintaining financial records
Cleaning and maintaining equipment
Report accidents or infectious illnesses for you or a person we support immediately
Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment, or any potential hazard
After training - administer medication. Deal with medical emergencies appropriately
Act as brand ambassadors for the organisation
Work as a Team
Review care plans and other documentation as required by the company of governing bodies
Keep information records to share with approved people so that we deliver joined-up care
Work with health professionals and other authorities
Take responsibility for running a shift in the absence of senior colleagues
Lead team reviews of service delivery standards
Protect the people we support from abuse by following our safeguarding policies
Complete training and create a plan to continue to improve your knowledge and skills
Share domestic tasks to help with the overall running of the service
Share responsibility for shopping and meal prep, involving people as part of their care plan
Communicate in a clear, professional, and respectful way

The Main Skills and Experience for This Role
Essential
Good general education
Confident IT user
Knowledge of the regulatory frameworks
Satisfactory Police Check and check against the ISA List (where applicable)
Honesty, reliability, trustworthiness and a passion to make a difference
A commitment to undertake training and development as required
Commitment to the aims and objectives of the service and of Ivolve
Level 2 RQF in Health and Social Care
Desirable
RQF Level 3 or above in social care (or must be willing to work towards and achieve minimum of Level 3 within a given timescale)
Previous experience within a social care setting
Mandatory training qualifications e.g. fire safety, first aid, food hygiene, manual handling, and Health and Safety awareness
